The way SL scripting works today it's hard to tell how much a certain script or set of scripts will impact sim performance. It's also hard to tell where misbehaving scripts are without the help of a linden.
It would be very useful for us scripters to have a way to gauge script performance, and a way to give unimportant scripts lower priority than timing sensitive scripts.
Right now, trying to figure out script performance is a case of trial, error and guesswork.
A task management system like the ones in popular operating systems would be nice, allowing the user to bring up cpu usage properties on a script, as well as a priority setting.
A top cpu time list would be useful for land owners.
Finally, i would love for script beacons to show multiple scripts in single prims by drawing a thicker line for each additional script. And to draw beacons on avatars, too. That way, if someone wanders onto your land with thousands of attached scripts, you'll easily spot them.
If it's impossible to retrofit something like that to LSL, at least consider it for inclusion in the new mono scripting system.
