Just a thought - it would be nice if audio streams could be attached to avies so that one could choose to always: hear there own stream, or that of others they contact - or choose to only hear there own, or only that of others. (Hope that made sense.)

You can do this today with any streaming audio player... iTunes, WinAmp, Sonique, etc... Here's how:

1) Start your music player
2) Open a stream and begin to listen
3) Meet a friendly av who wants to listen to your stream
4) Copy your stream URL (ctrl-c) and paste it into SL chat (ctrl-v)
5) Friendly av starts his/her music player
6) Friendly av copies/pastes URL from SL chat into their music player stream
7) Two avs enjoy the same stream.

Why in the world should LL spend time and effort to replicate this functionality? Yes, it would be neat... several years from now when everything else in SL is perfected.

There is no way to stream music, except to set it on the parcel(land) so a boombox is not feasable, unless you own the land.

music samples (pre-recorded and uploaded to SL) have a max lengh of 10 seconds, though you can preload mutple of them, then play them sequecually.

llSendStreamExternal(); // opens current audio media stream in winamp/windows media player and stop's parcel audio from starting automatically.

llRestoreInteralStreams(); // goes back to autoplaying stream's in the SL client when you enter a parcel.

And I guess then you'd want to send the AV's Name in the user-agent string.

still not thinking from the terms of a devoloper a user says it cant be done because of the client only allows a certain way.we know we need to be on you own land he is asking go a step further
only reason that a person can upload is 10 was or listen to own music is lagg issues and upload times and server assets but still possibilitiyes must be explored
