Rezzing on Linden Land

I don't get why you can't. It has a 5 minute return on it. It's not like people are going to build stuff on them -- they can do that in cordova -- they WOULD do it in cordova.

I mean.. we have all these roads -- but you can't get a car on them easily. Also, you can't shoot weapons(even if they're harmless).

I brought this up because I recently was messing around with flying a plane and wanted to dog fight with my friend -- but only the ocean sims really performed well enough for this -- but of course you can't shoot there. Now this is a small personal need -- but I just do not see why not. People can get around it so easily. I see no reason people can't go to an island and lay down a lawn chair and sit -- even if its for 5 minutes.

If thats no good they could allow temp on rezz objects to spawn in no spawn parcals (or add an option). I see this si a hinderance that is counter productive, especially where roads are concerned.

Aw geez, now I want to get a gang together and do the Mad Max thing all up and down the Linden Roads.

I suppose someone could go out of their way to be obnoxious, even with a five minute return... but then, they could do that now, anyway, if they really wanted to.

Exactly. Really, all this does is hurt the people who want to use the land for the right reasons. I mean... I could set up a roadblock by going on my land and having an object rez an object that moves into place every 4.9 minutes. Not only would no one notice -- I doubt anyone would even care anyways since no one uses the roads.

I wish I *could* use the roads. I keep trying every once in a while, but it is just too hard to do unless you turn down all the settings so sims can rez fast enough :/

Here's hoping the combination of the new rendering/streaming engine and Havok 2 finally makes them useable, even if it is several months off or more.

On the topic at hand, I agree - I have never understood not allowing any rezzing at all, it's pretty frustrating. Hell, set it to 1 minute autoreturn, but just having no build all over the place has never made sense to me.

I think that they would have to do more than a one minute autoreturn -- a one minute autoreturn UNLESS it is being sat upon, otherwise our vehicles would *poof* while we ride them.

Well... what about a compromise? If it was set to say 30 minutes return, that would discourage people from building things, and prevent the roads turning into Cordova, whilst vehicles would be perfectly useable since you're only on each land parcel for just a few minutes?

I never found 5 to be a problem, it's more the fact that getting vehicles on the land is a big hassle and it restricts other things. For any Rez function it's like a random brick wall in the middle of every sim.

Most land out there allows strangers to Rez. I don't think theres much of a problem with people trashing random homes -- because its only around for 5 minutes usually.
