It would be incredibly nice to get a confirmation dialog when transferring objects to another player. Last night, I wanted to change into my 100% custom avatar, so I opened up my inventory, and dragged the folder onto myself. Little did I know that there was someone behind me, just out of camera range, with a very large piece of invisible clothing. "Soandso has accepted your inventory offer." My heart just sank. I didn't know this person from Eve, and here they were, putting on the parts of my avatar that I spent hours working on. Asked them to delete it, but here is hoping that they really did...nothing forcing them to.. I would have liked a confirmation that transferring the item(s) was really what I intended to do.. :\

This has happened to me too. Transfers are a tricky part of the interface--to make the mistake of sending to someone else accidentally before (especially in a locale like a dance club where the name tags are bouncing around really fast), I usually go by utilizing FIND and looking up the profile in question. Then dragging-and-dropping from my Inv to that panel.
A simple confirm would be really welcome for things like this too, because the behavior isn't made clear until after the fact. By then it's too late. Too easy to make slips with this.
A parallel I see is how confirm dialog boxes were added to the selling of land. "ARE YOU REALLY SURE YOU WANT TO DO THAT?" and we also have a parallel in returning schtuff on your own land. There could be a "Don't show this confirmation next time" checkbox or somesuch thing for those who feel confident.

Exactly. It could be made so easy to get rid of permanently. Because of how I do outfits, I can see getting nabbed by this one again sometime...

Another thing in the same category is that if you drag something *across* other objects (on the way to dropping it on someone else), the objects sometimes light up with the edit lines to let you know where you are dropping it. But once you find the avatar and are about to let it go on them, the objects behind them are still "lit-up" with the edit lines as if *they* are still the active target. It takes a great deal of confidence sometimes to be sure that you are actually dropping the thing on the avatar, when all the visual indications the UI gives you is that you are actually about to insert the thing into a floor prim!

Oh GOD, I hate that. Wynne, I completely agree: We need something that forces us to confirm when we give something to another person. For anyone who saw the thread in Gallery, this just recently happened to me, only I was the recieving end. I felt awful about it, because the item wasn't MEANT to be given to me, let alone with full perms.. All I was doing was jumping around like a retard and it was accidentally dragged onto me. LET'S MAKE IT SO THAT THESE MISTAKES NEVER HAPPEN!

Visual indication around target avatar - *seconded* Confirmation box - *seconded*
And how about - if the target av refuses the inv offer, no-copy items are returned to the giver.
Is there a proposal for this yet? I have a vote or two to throw at it.

I agreed with confirmation box.
BUT, also, I think I need ability to drop an entire Folder into other person also! It's painfully now to give someone standing nearby ten textures you have. And I don't want to rez an object just to put the textures there and give the box to my friend either.
