no, really , this one is so simple and would make SL a more beautiful place to be.
"bottom size" when building. Now i dont mean that people can go around editing each others bottoms.. I mean in an object. We already have the ability to resize the top of an object...so why not the bottom?
The other idea would be to round corners. So, take a cube... shorten it a little.. round the corners.. BINGO!!!...INSTANT CUSHION!!!
Last night i was building a squarish cushion for a sofa and guess what?... 6 prim minimum!!! I have tried everything from two cylinders one lengthways and one across... a squashed sphere I have also cut and reshaped just about everything I can think of.. all to no avail.
Currently to make a square cushion (as seen in most furniture I see in RL)(minus the back being rounded) you need 3 cylinders sliced down the centre, 2 spheres cut in quarters and a cube as well as about 10 minutes of alignment if you are pretty handy.. an hour if your not..
If you could change the bottom size... or round the corners, you could do it with 1. All of a sudden.. my magnificant couch goes from 30 odd prims.. down to a simple 7. My vases would be simple to make.. My wals needednt have sharp corners for people to ram into... and the SL world would be a better place.

Corner rounding has been mentioned in numerous threads, but I don't know as I've seen bottom sizing. I think the trick is that you want to leave the middle at the same diameter, though, right? That's not the way topsizing works now, I don't believe.

Perhaps in addition to rounded corners, we might ask for rounded faces (convex or concave -- it would be a rounding parameter applied to any currently "flat" face). That could be interesting.

Most. Requested. Feature. Ever.

I think it's known that we all want this at some point. :D

Jeffrey, has surface rounding usually been lumped in with corner rounding in these frequent requests, or is that separate? I.e., rendering a normally flat face convex or concave.

That would depend on how you propose it be done, Neko.

For example, this versus this.

What? Where does that come from ?

I don't want it, compared to other things.

Just propose it and watch the vote. No need to predict the outcome.

Its so easy to imagine everyone wants what you want. I am amazed my proposals get so few votes, too ! But thats the point, isnt it ?

I find I can make nice rounded cushions with a torus.
