Another pet peeve of mine is 'object'!
I set down a house then decided to pick it up for some reason or other and when I did........................ it was in PIECES!
Not having the time to pick 'each' item up, I did a 'return to owner'................OMG something like 100 prims all went into my 'object' folder and of course....................................ALL WERE LISTED AS 'OBJECT'!!! ARGH!!!

There MUST be an easier way to delete this stuff! What about in a 'group' like you do in Word? You know, where you highlight a bunch of them and then click 'delete' ONCE????? How tedious is it to have to do each one by one.

Of course that might make it TOO easy, but what the hey?! Live dangerously I always say! You only live once............ er, TWICE! hehehehe

The same would be true for transferring stuff from one folder to another in a different window! Or out of boxes into your inventory. Hey! I could become verrrrrrrrrrrry vocal here!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

Er... you can do group select. In edit mode, click and drag on the ground or sky, and you'll select everything that's inside the rectangle you set out.

You can also select multiple objects by selecting them one at a time while holding shift. After they're selected, you can just hit delete to delete them normally.

If you're trying to remove a series of inventory items, you can hold down shift and select a longer range. (hold down shift and click an inventory item a few lines down... it'll select them all from start to finish.) Right-click the selected inventory items to select "delete".

Then, when you've got them in your trash, you can do File > Empty Trash on your Inventory window.
