I dont spend a lot of time in combat sims, all two of them, Jessie and Rausch. But, why is there only two? When SL started out, four sims (of 16?) made up the Outlands, a no man's land where you better have a gun strapped to your hip if you ventured into them.

So now SL is nearly 25,000 people and 600 sims strong and we have two combat sims.

I propose that there be a connected region consisting of 25 sims that are combat ready, kill or be killed, bring your weapons, outlands. But, with one major difference. This region should be five sims by 5 sims, all combat zones except for the neutral, no kill zone, telehub, rezzing area sim in the center. This center sim will also serve as the graveyard for those killed in the adjoining sims. There is no need to be sent all the way home, especially with the world as large as it is.

Give the people with guns a real place to play. Thank you for your support!

I agree. Maybe this would help clean up the sandboxes too :)

And spend a while designing it, with linden made craters and blown out buildings etc... to help with the atmosphere.

The center safe sim could be protected with ominous walls that leave no doubt in your mind that if you venture beyond them, you better watch your back.

The more I think about it the more I like it actually.

The main reason I dont go to Jessie or Rausch now is because it is a terrible hassle to be sent all the way home and tp back to Clyde and then head back over to where I was. If I am in a known combat region and I get killed and I am already within two sims of where I was, my killer better be ready for my return. The five to seven minute grace they had to runaway or fortify is lost, because my return time is more pending.

Along with this, I think people need to accept and realize that being in these regions is risky and your gonna get killed, maybe many times. No crying to the Lindens about it, if you cant take the heat then get out of the kitchen.

Anyway, people frequently ask me what there is to do. It would be cool to be able to point them to a PvP that is more rewarding than the Jessie experience.

I've said it a number of times before: I'd love to see more Combat Sims with static environments and 0% private ownership.

Yes! If for no other reason than to get the twits with high-powered firearms and itchy trigger-fingers away from the folks who don't want to get blasted across three sims while shopping or building. 25 sims may be a bit much, really, but a reasonably large interconnected bunch of contiguous sims for combat sould be awesome. Heck, could even seperate 'em from the main continent, to avoid stray fire at the borders. And heck, why not special events, such as recrations of classic RL or imagined(Ninjas Vs. Pirates?) battles, or, y'know, enough space for those Space Pirate people to finally fully use all the stuff they've been filling the sandboxes with. Being one of those well-armed twits I spoke of earlier, I heartily endorse this! ..For whatever my vote's worth.
