New Transparent Feature

The new transparent feature makes it very time consuming when trying to do anything involving transparency.

Before it was much easier to apply tranparency to all sides of a prim then add texture to the side needed. Now that is not possible. Prim becomes locked if full tranparency is applied meaning you have to apply tranparency to each side you want tranparent now.

Please restore the old method of applying tranparency to objects.

It should at least have been made a toggle.

I've noticed that if you attempt to drag an item onto an transparent object, it WILL work and go into the correct object if it's in a linkset with visible objects AND you drop the item on the part of the invisible object that would obscure other parts of the visible prims, were they all visible.

Complicated and inconsistent, yay! :D

Make this new feature a checkbox in the tool menu.

I agree with you, Drift. I do a lot of work with transparency and I find this new "feature" without merit. I fail to understand why anyone would want it. I wrote my feelings in this thread:

This is really a nightmare for those of us who have to first make something an alpha and then have to only texture one side...

For someone like me who does this daily for partiesd over and over, it is making my job take TONS more time... Please go back to the old ways...

I can cause accidents TOO my pretties LOL

LOL I accidently dropped a tranparent on one of my railings at clovers the other night.. now i'm trying to find the dang texture to replace it.. This was because of having to apply tranparency to 4 sides of a prim :=(
