SL 'Quickbar' slot for attachments ?

I spend a lot of time attaching, de-attaching objects from my inventory, such as flight attachments, hug attachments, that sort of thing. It's a royal pain finding these each time in inventory and attaching them whilst trying to keep up with what's going on around me.

(I tend to be more scrupulous in unattaching objects when not needed as I have a graphics bug which sends my GUI wild when things are attached and I move the camera around - but that's another story)

What I was thinking - it would be handy if there was some way there could be some sort of a 'quickbar' slot down near the GUI buttons (or somewhere else), rather like in Neverwinter Nights, from where favourite objects can be attached/unattached just by clicking them, having been previously dragged there out of inventory - also a little like the Mac OS X 'Dock' now I come to think of it too.....Just slots for, say, four or five items would be enough.

Only my spur of the moment idea, perhaps there's another way of doing something equivalent to this that I've overlooked ?

Dee - it's a great idea. I have also always wanted the ability to lock certain attachments to your avatar, until you specifically remove them. This would allow you to leave your hair attachments, hug attachments, etc... on without having to worry about losing everything when you change an outfit by dragging a folder on yourself. A shortcut bar is a great idea too, especially if we can also add shortcut keys as you can with gestures - anything we can get to improve access to inventory would be wonderful.

Actually what Cristiano said cuts right to the heart of it; the present inventory system lacks - something, when it comes to outfits. Mine is a complicated mess of awkward groupings to try and allow easy switching to add X without losing Y, and frankly it just doesn't work too well. Being able to 'lock' items would help a lot, however that would be achieved.

The 'quickbar' idea initially related, in my mind, mainly to add-ons such as hugs, X-flight, that sort of thing, in the same way as say, equipping a bow in Neverwinter, but certainly, by extension, might be useful for quick access to, say, a folder containing hair and extensions too - just anything user defined - flexibility is the keyword...

I guess, what it comes down to is that a way of shortcutting favourite items in that great rambling inventory is what's needed.

And I wish I could F-key shortcut the animations such as standing poses too, because I still haven't cracked that...

hmmmm...

Yeah, I agree with this suggestion. Especially if we can have scripted access to the buttons on it.
