Message Archive and Customized Group Chat

i think itd be kool to get an option to enable message archiving similiar to yahoo messenger so we can keep track of conversaions. and these things come in handy lots of times for me and friends who have enabled it on yahoo. and wen i say customized group chat, i mean another thing similiar to another feature on yahoo messenger and aim. we should get sumthing where we can have a group chat that enables us to invite cetain people/friends to a confrence chat sorta thing.

It would also be EXTREMELY useful to have
the timestamp next to messages, so if we
are away we can see what time the messages
were sent.

AND sumthing that can inform the message sender if the reciver is idle/away

Agree, the current method for setting up ad-hoc group chats is not very spontaneous unless you've already established a Group for everyone to join beforehand, or you've dragged calling cards into a folder (somewhat unintuitive). These look like obvious features which would be quite practical, and have been suggested a number of times on the SL Forums before so you're in good company.

Want to post in this thread about missing the obvious?

I think there is a non-technical reason for not wanting us the have chat logs. They don't want us to be able to look at old fights and arguments. They want us to forgive because we foget the name of of the old "enemy".

Might work the opposite though, if we could have an non-changeable record of what was said maybe people wouldn't say some of the reprehensible things they do in SL.

i wouldnt want one cuz of that. if anything i want to forget arguments. the reaon i ever in chat logs is to get memorable, or REALLY hilarious chats.
