Um. Maybe this has been suggested before, and maybe it's silly... but do you think we could have a logout button? You know, aside from the exit button? A little button you click when you need to relog because you're stuck in limbo for the 50th time in a given day, and which doesn't close the client, but simply returns you to the login screen so you can ... well, relog? :D

I mean, it's not THAT big a deal - but it would be nice.

I think this is a great idea - and you should propose it as a feature at http://www.secondlife.com/vote/

I have two avatars I use; one is primarily for my business and the other is for recreation. It would be nice to be able to flip back and forth when needed instead of having to close the program and restart it.

Also, I am not a computer expert but maybe someone on the forum is who can answer this question:

Are there any potential computer performance issues with closing and reopening a program a few times in a few hours? Memory leaks, etc? Probably not but it can't hurt to ask! :)

Actually its probably the opposite, when you close the application it will free up all the memory, while if you do have a logout button and keep the application open which is a feature i'd like to see, they would have to make sure as much memory is free'd up on logout to keep the application running properly.

I concur with the need for a "logoff" button.

On that note, I'd really like the client to remember multiple avatar names so that I can pick them from a list.

I'd like a way to be able to have SL quit and open automatically when enabling certain features, like Local Lighting. I don't think the client can stay open during that time, so it would have to shutdown and rise again.

Binds several steps into a click—simple!

Yeah, I'll post my agreement with this. I'm suprised its not in there, but no doubt there is a reason.
