What is it? Why do I care?
If I don't know I won't click the link because Jira is a pain in the a$$ (not to mention that I have to go through the hassle of copying and pasting the URL becuase the forum BBCode is down). |

It just says this...
After attending (or reading transcripts of) some of Benjamin's and Rob's office hours, I think it might be useful to have a forum for bug discussions. Lots of people seem to have issues with JIRA and most can't attend the office meetings. Since a lot of people seem to be unable or unwilling to learn how to use JIRA (and we have people here who can't be bothered to copy/paste a URL so that's not too hard to believe) I thought a forum dedicated to the discussion of specific JIRA issues would be useful. The forum wouldn't have to have a thread for *every* JIRA issue, just ones that people wanted to discuss or raise the visibility on. Since this might make more work for our resmods, comments from them would be especially welcome. _____________________

It's kind of ironic that the people likely to want this feature, are the same people who would never log into JIRA to vote on it
![]() i voted though hehe _____________________

Since a lot of people seem to be unable or unwilling to learn how to use JIRA (and we have people here who can't be bothered to copy/paste a URL so that's not too hard to believe) When they fix Jira so I don't have to go to the main page first to log in I'll start using it more. Until then I won't bother going to Jira *unless* I intend to vote for an idea--and to do that I need to know what it is. |

Thanks for the vote.
I think they fixed the silly login stuff a while ago. If you go straight to an issue and find yourself not logged in, click the "if you were logged in.." link and enter your creds. Once you log in, it should take you straight back to the issue. _____________________

I think they fixed the silly login stuff a while ago. If you go straight to an issue and find yourself not logged in, click the "if you were logged in.." link and enter your creds. Once you log in, it should take you straight back to the issue. You're right, it has been fixed. Although I did notice that if I log out and click the "accident? log back in..." link it's broke. Takes me to the main page AND I'm logged out. Still, I'd like to know why I'm going to Jira before I go to Jira. |
