As I'm sure most people have noticed, the Linden Answers forum has become worthless. The vast majority of postings are either complaints, questions better posted elsewhere or questions where the answers can be found simply by reading the Blog.
I propose that:
1) LL adds a "Rants and Whines" forum - which would get a monster number of postings, and would be much more accurately named.
2) LL creates a new Answers@lindenlab.com email address - which is where the actual questions currently posted in Linden Answers should be sent.
3) Change the Linden Answers forum to a (read-only) FAQ forum. The Lindens can take legitimate questions submitted to the Answers@ email address and post both the question and the answer at the same time.

1. "Rants and Whines" Already had its time. it was called The Sandbox. But it was used for Rants and Whines anyways.
2. Not terribly bad idea.
3. Not terribly bad idea.

Although I use the LA frequently, I agree that this isn't a bad idea.

While we are at it, why don't they force you to have a forum link to a moderated thread when adding a vote.

From: Usagi Musashi I don`t agree at all... Sorry Usagi, but I don't understand your comment. What is it that you don't agree with? Do you feel the Linden Answers forum is NOT filled with garbage? Do you think that people creating new threads as follow-up to previous comments (rarely questions) is an efficient way to get answers? Do you disagree that a read-only FAQ forum would be a good idea?

Sorry but Understand why this needs to be said inthe first place. People on the linden forum from LLAbsanswers Q. And the case is closed. Problem is if other people comment of Q based on issues that are asked to the LLabs directly they usually lose their meaning after people jump in an cause the thread to be closed. Read ony threads are the only way to deal with issues based on Quick get to the point and then A to a issues thats deal with CS issues and or concerns........

I think this version of vBulletin allows a forum to be made such that posts don't appear until approved by a moderator, which would have much the same effect as sending email to an answers@secondlife.com address, and posting the questions and answers they felt appropriate. This idea has already been rejected.

I say keep the Linden answers forum the way it is, rather than making it even harder to see what other people are asking (and seeing the answers!).
However, it would be nice if there was a way to answer people privately. There's been many times I'd have been able to help someone days before they got an answer from LL, but they had IMs turned off.
