I got told by LL I would get banned if I buy anymore land that was not intended for sale so... When you click buy land, it should have a pop up asking the seller if they want to sell their land for X $, It gets annoying buying a plot and having someone IM you later saying it was for sale by accident and can I have it back(which I generally give back unless they are extremely nasty, or you get back online and the person couldn't wait and report you for abuse).
......OR when you close out the About land window if you got the Sale box checked, a popup asks to confirm sale of land @ X price.

hmm.. i guess thats just like they should have a ban so people cant sit outside of your property line in the linden roadways and scream things at your customers..and they should also add something so that people cant buy illegit copys of things from someones old partner and try to sell them even being asked 2-3 times not to..and paid not to.

I think billy just mis-posted.
Anywho...
WTF?! Banned for buying land set for sale? So this means I could set my land for sale, someone could buy it, and I could get them BANNED for doing so? What a fucking STUPID thing.
If land buying is bugged letting people buy land that isn't for sale, LL should release an emergency patch halting all land sales till it's fixed.
If people are mistakenly setting their land for sale, that's their own stupid fault. LL should put in a patch that makes it ask for confirmation before activating the 'for sale' thing then. Preferably along with the whole 'auctioning' thing.

i bought land set for a single linden once and was imd a few days later by the previous owner claiming that he'd never meant for it to be for sale. he didn't want it back but showed up one evening to "negotiate a reasonable price."
several neighbors were present at the time and started iming me that he was playing a con be setting it so low then showing up to see how much money he could scam. his question "how much money do you have?" seemed to be what redflagged them.

never thought of that, I might have been scammed.I've returned land a few days after the fact. I'l have to satrt checking account historys to make sure they are the previous owner. I've always returned the land except on one occasion, where the person never even asked, just IM'd me with nasty comments and demanded I return it, then some more nasty comments.

I hear about accidental land sells all the time. Even so far as people change a setting, haven't hit ok yet, and people have bought their land. Now I don't know if that stories is true, but I do hear about people having problems. Considering the value of land, and people first purchase of land can be a big expense. I think they are at high risk for problems. Not under standing a setting could cost them allot.
It should be a protected process kind of like change a password, setting any land settings that can result in them loosing their land, selling it to the wrong person, or for the wrong price, should be double checked, double confirmed. Before they take effect.

i witnessed two incidents in 1.2 of people purchasing land set for sale that were later told by the linden, after exhaustive log searches, that the previous owners had not ever actually set the land for sale.
both people promptly returned the land and both previous owners promptly returned the money.

Recently, while transferring land to friends, some shady people flew by during the transaction and bought the land. When told that the land was meant to transfer from one person to the other, the buyer of the land said, "Tough." That is probably what this is about. Khamon's situation is totally separate and I sympathize with that as well, but people ripping others off is obviously going to have consequence.

I encountered what I consider a bug in the land management system (yes I reported it) and almost had my land bought out from under me. I had three 1024m2 plots of land, two for sale and one to keep. The two plots were not selling, so I decided to recombine them all and keep the land. When I recombined the land, the whole 3072m2 was set for sale at the price of one of the plots. Luckily the person who bought the land was kind enough to return it for a refund. I agree that there should be a confirmation when land is put up for sale or land set for sale is reconfigured. Having a confirmation to complete the sale of land would be too much of a pain. I have been offline several times when my land has sold. If I were buying land, I would not want to wait for the sale to complete.
