llTeleportToHere() function

Would it be good for an object's script to offer a TP to an agen?

Yes, a great idea.

Would like a new LSL function that would act just like the agent's "Offer Teleport" feature, but by an object. Right now, an object can IM an agent and tell it where it is, but can't really offer to teleport it there. The function declaration would be like:

llTeleportToHere(key agent)

This would be ideal for store ads, for example. "Click me to go to the store." The ad would email the remote TP server to offer a TP. There are plenty of other uses, obviously. And the good news is this should not require any new technologies for LL, I believe. Just a new function to offer access to what's already built in.

I'm putting this one in http://secondlife.com/vote/, too, so please vote if you like the idea:

llTeleportAgent has already been promised. Don't know if it's actually going to happen though.

llTeleportAgent() vs llTeleportToHere()

I'd love an arbitrary teleport to position. On the other hand, one might argue that llTeleportToHere() would provide a little more stability and privacy. Stability, because the object has to already be "here". llTeleportAgent() could attempt to put you in null space, by contrast. Also, privacy. The object has to already have permission to be in the place in question to TP you to "here". It may also be technically easier to implement all 'round, in part because of the simpler constraints and perhaps some other unforseen issues, like script being in different sim from destination.

I would love a llTeleportAgent() function with coordinates (or sim name plus local coords), but would settle for llTeleportToHere() if it helps grease the wheels to implementation.

Though... an object can always give you a landmark.
