When you mouse over an object sometimes your cursor changes to a hand or with the new patch a variety of other symbols. What bothers me is that it isn't instantaneous - when you mouse over something it takes about a second to show up, and if afterwards you move your mouse around the screen continuously it never reverts back to the default cursor. Once you move your mouse from the touchable/buyable/etc object it takes about a second of complete mouse stillness for it to revert to the default mouse cursor.

In other games such as World of Warcraft mouseovering is completely instantaneous. How would this change help Second Life? The most common situation where it would be useful is if you are in a room with many buyable items. You would want to move your cursor from one to another to see if the L$ mouse symbol shows up. Under the default system, you have to move your cursor over it, wait one second, see if there is a symbol, move your mouse off it, wait one second, move on to the next one.

Small features like this can really give a game polish and user friendliness. In closing, please implement delay-less mouseover code - a simple, quick, and useful endeavour.

That delay you experience is the time it takes for a packet requesting information about an object to leave your computer and go to the server, and the server to send an information packet back saying how much something costs, what it's description is, etc. If you want it to be faster, get a connection with less latency.
