Seems there's an uproar already about the new Event Calendar. Please post your thoughts on how you'd like to see it handled.
Here are some things that seem apparent already:
1. We need the coordinates system back 2. Since we still are only allowed a certain number of groups, perhaps the host need not belong to the group that owns the land. I don't think a lot of event posters are using places they're not associated with. If they are...well...that's just funny. I can just imagine logging in to find a bunch of strangers lounging around my house having an event. 3. Games like Tringo and SL-ingo should be allowed to be posted as often as someone wants to host them. They are a primary source of entertainment in world, and shouldn't be limited.
Some ideas that I have:
1. Separate tabs or buttons for types of events. I don't need to see all the dance parties myself, and I'm sure others don't need to see game events or educational events. Maybe have one list that has ALL the events, with the subcategories on the side for people who want to filter their results. 2. Event Calendars designated to their location. Places that regularly have events could have their own event calendar attached to their land in the Find Places tab. That way a person could add a place to their Picks and find that places Event Calendar with ease.

Hopefully I can make it to the discussion at 6pm... but a few thoughts... -I agree with the Lindens that the event calendar is and has been broken for a long time -I agree that restrictions to event posts are not the solution -I strongly agree that event calendar filters are the answer for everyone -I think the reason that restrictions were chosen instead of filters was because: -----Restrictions require less dev time/cheaper to implement -----LL isn't comfortable with the current makeup of top dwell holders -----Community response on the usefulness of filters has been mixed in the past -----LL is uncomfortable with the inherent advertising benefit of the event calendar Just opinions/guesses, of course

I guess i've totally been outta the loop lately and running around in my own world cause i didn't know they made this change until today when i tried to post an event for a club that i'm a officer in and coudln't cause the land isn't deeded. i'm sorry but this idea is stupid.. most events aren't payed for out of LL pockets anymore anyway, they come out of player pockets, if somoene wants to hold 50 events on someone's land a day i don't see the problem since LL isn't paying for the event to be held there most of the time anyway, As long as the owner or group that owns the land says it's ok to have events there. What's the problem?
