I've had quite a few problems with my internet lately (the Drexel Shaft rapes again!) and Second Life has never once told me when I've lost my connection with the server/sim and need to re-log. No, instead I have to find out if I'm getting any data by either doign a Find, Editing an object and looking at the owner, or try to move. Earlier today I was disconnected and had a ping sim of 128 ms. How's that for detecting my connection? I would like to see some kind of detection of a loss of connection (like, say, every other online program in existence, from AIM to EverCrack 2 to IE). And even better would be detecting when a connection is re-established and then automatically log back into the sim.

i agree with this.. most other online type entertainment systems have some sort of indicator, a little green light, a red flashing icon, yellow or orange in between.... mostly how i tell is if i cant move or my music dies ... but thats not always good enugh becuase i have and still do spend alot of my time in my workshop not moving, and sometimes either have the speakers off or not wearing headphones... 25 min later when i try and save something .. oops its dun been disconnected (highlight script, copy relog, highlight script paste) this was really annoying when my router was craping out and it disconected every 5-20 min. Another way to tell is watching the packet meter, it goes red your screwed.. but 80% of the time im not looking at it, or it disconnects when i stand up and take a break from the computer, this isnt much help since its mostly a blink, and due to the nature of the internet it sometimes goes red with packet loss, just becuase it can. I think a little blue dialog box saying you have been disconnected would be nice (as in the same way that you get one when your logged off for inactivity) i dont really care about auto relog, i usually use it as an excuse to get away from the pc, and its not that major to dbl click an icon
