Free Last Names

We have heard the many reasons for having a limited list of last names for everybody.
We still think limiting names limits freedom.

We want to be able to create our last name just like we are able to create our first name.
We also want to be able to change our name any time we want.

Going without saying:
*Of course, whatever first and last name combination we choose will not be available because we already took it.
*Of course, if we change our name to something else, the previous name we had would no longer be taken, and therefore anybody can register with it.
* Of course, people will might have the same first names or the same last names, but not the same first and last name combination.


We want the freedom to name ourselves whatever we want to under the sun.
I saw a proposal in the other forum about charging people for names. That proposal is completely uncalled for. This is going too far.

Being free to create our last name.

Pros:
We can choose whatever name we want.
There will be less people with the same last name. Therefore, less confusion.


Cons?:
Peope will have crazier names than they have now. This is neither a pro or a con. They do this in every game, every forum, and everywhere you look. They do it anyway with their first name.

People will choose fictional characters, commercial names, or celebrety names. This is also neither a pro or a con. They do this in every game, every forum, and everywhere you look. They do it anyway with their first name.


I don't see it as being anything but beneficial to be free to create your last name the way you create your first name.

Lots of Pros. There is no logical reason to have a set last name.
Most games just use one field.
Allow the player to type what they want incliding spaces.

This game is unique because it has the prefabricated last name feature. None the less, it is a meaningless feature. It does not even give us the option whether or not we would like to show this last name on our heads during gameplay.
