It is clear that inventory improvements are still a ways off, and the current setup is pretty unmanageable. Please allow a way for an avatar's inventory listing to be downloadable as an XML document, with the nested folder structure, so that an external tool could be created to process that inventory and do a deep searches on it. I would gladly make a search tool for my inventory if we had access to our own inventory as XML. Obviously security would need to be put in place to protect the inventory listings - but it should also be easily refreshable so that a tool could grab a new copy of the inventory periodically.

Good idea, both of you.
Any feature that requires minimal work at LL has a greater chance of being implemented, with a bit of luck. Let it be script-driven though, not manually triggered. That way a trivial one-line script will dump your own inventory into XML by specifying your av's key, while a slightly more advanced script can do it for arbitrary objects that you own. Furthermore, it's much less work to add actions which are triggered by LSL functions than through a new GUI feature, so again, asking for a script function makes it more likely that it'll ever get done by LL. _____________________
