First of all, for those of you that run a business in SL, do you do any sort of bookkeeping? If so, how do you manage it? Personally, I like the fact that we can download our transactions into Excel, but it needs a few more features. How about:
-The ability to download a range of days (IE: a week or a month at a time)
-Being able to categorize revenues and expenses. In other words, let me omit the hair that I bought from the list of operating costs?
-Different formats to download in. I'm not saying they should support every piece of accounting software out there but how about MS Money, Peachtree or Pegasus?
Personally, the way I currently do it is quite time consuming. I download each day of one week (Tuesday - Monday is my "fiscal week"
, copy them all into one spreadsheet, sort and delete the 0L transactions (inventory transfers - WHY??), sort out any personal purchases like hair and clothes, then go through my transactions one by one to see if they should be omitted from business expenses.Needless to say its quite annoying
