Any chance we could get PSYS_PART_FOLLOW_SRC_MASK and PSYS_SRC_BURST_RADIUS to get along in llParticleSystem? Pleeeeeeease? Not a high priority item, but I thought I'd at least ask. :)

Why are these mutually exclusive, for that matter? Anyone?

Actually, I use the effect you can get from them being mutually exclusive, so if they do "fix" this, they'd best add in an alternative.

*blink!* You actually -use- that for something, Mol? Whatever for? *curious!*

Wait, I'm confused, Molecular. What effect? When I tried to make a script that used both settings just now, it resulted in simply ignoring the FOLLOW_SRC flag.

Pure, unadulterated malice, is my guess.

No, not really. :D I have no idea, myself. Maybe it's a limitation of the particle engine or something. It's just irritating. :D

basically follow source ensures particles start *ON* the source object and track its movement, im not sure why they felt the need to have that trigger the starting particles on the object itself as it hardly seems necessary tho it might have made their client render math a little easier.

as to any specific effect i have never seen any relating to having both used, if follow source is enabled whether a radius is set at 0.1, 1, or 10 the effect that is generated is exactly the same and is affected only by the min/max speed and angle settings of the object

Heh, well, I built a particle-based radar system. Unfortunately since it uses burst_radius to achieve its effects, it can never be placed in a vehicle or other moving object. Oh well. :)
