Land Rights for group land

THere is a need for a feature that allows group officers to maintain land in terms of terraform, access, etc, but not sell the land.

I have a situation where I wish to donate the land to the group. What protects me from having another officer selling the land?

at the scale of a sim, this is a big problem.

what i suggest is

officer privileges to avatar owned land that is "Set" to a group.

or

a more complicated deeding system.

or

a third over arching group level which has authority on land sales.

this is important for situations like ours where one player is donating the land and when the project is disolved, wishes to take the land back.

to me, this feature is urgent.

is nobody else interested in this?

Oh, there are tons who are interested. We just know the futility of asking for new features when what we have is so screwed up right now.

if this is too simplistic, i do support the idea of officers being able to create folders to drop members into. those folders could then be assigned various combinations of group permissions, costs and benefits. i don't remember who proposed this; but it's a good idea."

in a new in second life thread earlier this month. didn't get any replies then either.

we have a checkbox for deeding allocation with property. would it work to add a checkbox that granted the right for other officers to sell the land? that could then be unchecked if the owner was "loaning" the land to the group but wanted to retain retail control over it.

lindens, has this suggestion registered on your radar? i am just curious what the official position is on the current weaknesses of the group land system.

Thank you for your ideas. Yes, the suggestions have registered. We know we need to fix the group land tools. The current features were designed and created before the land revolution of 1.2.
