1. There should be an example of custom_keys.ini so those of us with no clue as to what to put into it in the way of formatting have some idea.

2. There should be a downloadable keymap in the downloads/extras section for those users with a standard non-us keyboard. (I use a US keyboard, so I have no idea what one of those standards is.) If there is more than one standard, there should either be multiple mappings or a clear cut tutorial on how to configure a default downloadable one.

I met a European user today and he was unable to enter in periods, semi-colons, question marks and such. I request this feature on his behalf as he was new and may not know the process.

Just take a look at keys.ini. The format is described there, as well as the current keybindings.

That's not what I meant. keys.ini only maps to certain functions not keypresses within SL.

Users can create a custom_keys.ini file in the SecondLife/app_settings directory with their own custom keyboard mappings. This file overrides any settings in keys.ini and will not be overwritten by new releases or updates.

This bit of text in the release notes led me to believe that we can now create complete keyboard mappings. If we cannot, why not? This functionality needs to be there due to the circumstances outlined in my first post.

You can only map the function keys specified in keys.ini, which is limited to movement and camera controls.

There should be international keyboard support, but there isn't. It should've been there when they officially started supporting users from all over the planet somewhen last year. Let's hope this gets fixed soon.
