Pay AV via web browser?

I love how LL has made the web interface. It's very nice being able to buy and sell $L, and control other aspects of my account.

However, I have one request for a minor addition to the web account page.

I would like a button that would allow me to pay an AV from my account, without having to login to SL. GOM used to allow me to pay an AV directly from their web page.

Should LL offer this option?

I'm not sure I'd like this... it would open up the possibility of an exploit if you were already logged in, with a properly crafted URL in-world.

First, let's have IM from the web page and see how that works out.

As it is now, I can buy and sell $L from my account web page. I can also send $US from my account to any paypal account I so desire. If someone were able to access my account, they could take the money and $L out anyhow. They could sell all the $L instantly and cash out to a paypal account.

Any time money is transferred from my account there is a trail. I can see where the $L goes, who received it etc. So if someone did access my account, pay an AV from my $L, and cash out, LL could easily track down who it was.

I coded "Baroun's ATM" a while back for a gent who wanted to be able to share money between accounts. When I read this proposal an idea for a mod for it popped into my head.

The way this would work is -

1) You rez a special "ATM" in world.
2) You config a notecard in it with your home email address, your PIN code, and a channel to listen on, and give it permission to take money from you
3) You can then use your email to reply-mail with the PIN, the Av's name you want to give the money, and the amount , and a PIN for them to use
4) You IM the AV you're doing biz with and tell them where the ATM , the channel and PIN
5) They go to it and say the PIN on the channel in question
6) The ATM checks their name, compares it to the PIN, and if they match, shells out the cash

Alternately, if there's people you're normally doing business with , you could put a notecard in it with their name and AV key, then have the thing just pay the money to them.
