Here's a few thoughts for feature suggestion discussion.
Reduce the number of people required to make a group from 3 to 2. This would make the common two person partnership not require the use of an alt or getting someone to be the third wheel on the bicycle.
All groups can if they wish have a private forum viewable only to group members.
The private forums could be rated PG or M as requested by the group.
This would make persistent discussions convenient for groups, be they special interest discussion groups, charitable enterprises, commercial ventures, etc.

Seconded. It would also help if a group could be made by one person and heavily advertised in some way for a short time so that the group would get a chance to add members.
I was going to make a group but don't want to go to the trouble of making and paying for alts just to start it. I also have no idea who else might be interested, as there are no other groups of this type ingame. I could either a) ask on the forums and thus give my position away, or b) buy alts. Prefer to just be able to start the group and have others join discreetly.

A group that has less than three people for a week gets deleted, so you have a week to find two more members. I have put my group creation notices in the notices and well wishes forum, although they would get a larger audience in the general forum, I don't put them there anymore because the general forum is for matters that concern SL in general, and a special interest group doesn't seem to fit that too well. For purposes of meeting the requirement of having 3 members you can get anyone who is willing to join, so friends might do that just to help you out.

I sincerely doubt I could get my friends to join it. I'd probably just be wasting the 100L or whatever it costs now, even with a week for others to join.
I think I'll finish my project before starting the group, that way I can actually spend time to promote it.
