o Better (motion captured) animations for things like running and dancing. Especially the running animation looks really weird.

o AV to AV interaction animations, both PG and M

o The ability to target another avatar and make it focus of your avatar's actions and emotes. This works very well in Star Wars Galaxies. When I dance in a cantina people come in and target me. Their avatars look at my avatar and slowly begin to clap to the rythm of the music I play. If in return I target them, my AV will look at them while performing, smile at them when I use a smile emote, blow them a kiss if I use that animated emote and so on.

o Targeted emotes: I want to type "/emote hug %TT" while targeting, say, an avatar named Gerald and have to following displayed:

"You hug Gerald" (on my screen)
"Anshe hugs you" (on Gerald's screen)
"Anshe hugs Gerald" (on other peoples screen)

For custom emotes I want to be able to type "/me teases %TT" and be able to read:

"Anshe teases Gerald" (on my screen)
"Anshe teases you" (on Gerald's screen)
"Anshe teases Gerald" (on everybody else's screen)

I used to make very very heavy use of this feature in SWG and the lack of it in SL seriously limits my roleplaying everytime more than one other person is listening.

o Sensitive scriptable spots on avatar surfaces. It would be very very nice if I could make my AV use her fingers, hands, feet, lips, teeth, tongue and at least one more fun part of her body to "touch", "tease", "bite", "scratch", "lick", "stroke", "hit", "suck", "beat" etc another AVs body parts and sensitive spots "tenderly", "lovingly", "brutaly" etc. :-)

For example I would like to type: "/lefthand tease Gerald leftfoot playfully" and see how my AV's hand moves to Gerald's foot and a text message is displayed such as "You playfully tease Gerald's left foot" while Gerald could read "Anshe playfully teases your left foot".

In addition, AV's could have emotional reactions scripted to specific manipulations of their sensory spots. For example when Anshe runs her fingers through Gerald's hair lovingly (/fingers runthrough Gerald hair lovingly) you would not only see my AV's hand touch Gerald's hair and the message "Anshe runs her fingers through your hair lovingly" on Gerald's screen, but he may also get a message like "You feel warm and comfortable" :-)

o Emotional state of an avatar would be nice :-) Which would be possible to manipulate/set through the player (such as in SWG) and maybe even through events (such as touches on sensitive spots, music, noise, injury,...) :-)

o Consensual transfer of control. It would be nice to have the ability for AVs to temporarily restrain or force other AVs. This would be fun for PvP games and also some very popular M roleplaying activities. It just adds to the thrill and sense of realism to enter a vampire castle, get trapped unable to move and then biten by a nasty vampire AV there, while unable to run away and screaming with fear ;-) Of course no effects should be permanent and nobody should be forced to enter such (clearly marked) vampire castles ;-) You have some of this in PvP games such as snare, stun, blindness, poison, drunkness and so on :-)

that's a LOT of heavy requests!

and here i am thinking, "hmm, AV improvements.." and came up with simple ideas:

-ability to have multiple tattoos per head/upper/lower.. without having to make multiples into one texture.

-better hair (i.e, flowing hair that doesn't pop through your body)

-smoother render / higher polygon count per AV

..but your ideas are interesting and 'just slightly' more advanced in implementation.. lol

You have made some outstandingly great suggestions for improving the social interactions in SL.

Custom gestures are coming in version 1.4. At the current pace of releases, that means probably somewhere around early July.

This is a good idea. Maybe a new LSL built in function could be added:

key llGetTargetKey()

Could return the key of the agent/object that the person who has the attached script is currently watching (by alt-clicking) or selecting (ie in edit mode).

"Anshe hugs you" (on Gerald's screen)

We could sort of script this if we could send individual Instant Messages without as much overhead delay that we have now. Combine a sensor with an instant message delvery and it might look something like:

Emote: You hug Gerald
Emote: Anshe hugs you
Emote: Anshe hugs Gerald

The only problem is sensors are limited to 15 people, so only the 15 closest people to you would see it, and with the 2 second delay with instant messages, it'd take 30 seconds for everyone to get the message.

"/me" is being implemented in 1.3, but it doesn't have in-line escape sequences. Instead, it works more like IRC where everyone sees the same message.

Escape sequences might be a good feature request for future versions though to save having to make a sensor/instant message kludge.

This might be possible with custom gestures in 1.4. I have no idea how they'll be implemented though, or if they will allow direct interaction between two people.

I think your description for how to implement two-person gestures is an excellent idea.

This is getting quite sophisticated, perhaps LL could give us the tools to make something like this possible, and let us all script it to our own preferences. =)

I'd really like some way to set my default facial / posture gesture with a "mood" and have it stay that way until I change it or relog. Some days I'm happy, others I'm sad, and I'd like it to be visible on my avatar so that people may be able to gauge my mood before starting a conversation.

Piro Serpentine has a scripted "collar" that does this, you could probably look him up or perhaps go to the "Pet Auctions" which happen regularly, as I'm sure someone there may have a similar script. =)

I really like these suggestions. I hope LL prints out your post and reviews some of these ideas for the update in 1.4.

Alot of these are great ideas, however not all of them I would like to be forced upon me.

Things such as the emotional reaction to touch and such, while I wouldn't mind that so much, I would like more control over it, say a stranger walks up to me and licks my ear, depending on who it is I would react differently.

Can't suggest any ideas upfront though to overcome that.

I think its a great idea to implement more avatar reactions to things though, I'm all for moods and responses like that, I just want control over them also so I'm not giving someone the wrong impression and such.

Hopefully we'll see something like these in the future. :)

With custom gestures alot of this, or something simular will be possible I think.
