How about we fix current problems first? :)

Furthermore, there are plenty of free paint programs out there, rendering something like this fairly useless. One good tool is The GIMP. You can find more in my sigline link.

If they ever get around to supporting clickable Flash or Java applets as surface textures, we could do it that way, though saving the results could be somewhat problematic. Might have to use an email interface to get the results, and upload them manually anyway.

The in-world ability to create textures isn't that important to me, but I see a number of requests in the voting list for shared whiteboard functionality, and having been to several planning meetings in SL, I can see how this could be quite helpful.

Now, the subject of collaborative in-world paint is another animal altogether. And Neko essentially nailed how I'd respond to it. :)

I'd kill to use my art pen on a prim in this manner.

From Cory's town hall:

Jarod Godel: When can we expect a white board/prim for collaborative writing?
Cory Linden: hah . . . one of my most wanted features . . . not for 1.7, but we are continuing to debate the best way to implement it.

:)
