It would be nice to allow the positioning of Ragdoll bones for posing. As is possible in Garry's Mod-- a mod of Half-Life 2.

Perhaps, existing poses/animations could be frozen and a sort of "physics gun" could be used by another av or the player themselves to quiickly select a bone for positioning.

ICING ON THE CAKE:

Freeze all postions relatve to the pelvis and then allow pelvis to be rotated and translated once the pose it set! Alright!

Thanks

May be possible in the coming havok 2.0 port.

I just want to make sure that this is not considered a flame or putdown of the exellent work of Linden Labs. Any examples given of other product behavior is only inteded as examples to illustrate the concepts I wish to discuss. They are intended to remind the reader of something they may have noticed in another product themselves or to spur an interested party to investigate. Thank you for your respect and patience.

Hmmm, are you suggesting poser development features in the SL client or something more subtle?

"User-created content takes the idea of leveraging player opinions a step further by allowing them to effectively prototype new ideas and features. Developers can then measure which new concepts most improve the products and incorporate them into the game in future patches."

the official answers these days seem to be "havoc 2 will allow us to do this (in 2009) and we're very excited about it" or "this is a good item to post to the voting board."

the former answer was being given to us eighteen months ago; so that's probably the right one.
