Technology limit for streaming is why there's a 31-prim physics limit. Vehicles already crash often on sim crossing, so this is pretty much why that's the case.

However, there have been talks about increasing this limit when Havok 2 and/or Monocode are implemented over roughly Q3 and Q4 of this year, so don't lose hope just yet!

I would love seeing a higher prim limit as well, and we'll surely see such an increase down the road. It's been discussed so much, the Lindens are well aware of our desire to see more prims in physical objects.

That said, I think the prim limit is an interesting challenge for builders. I'm a high-prim builder, and I love the chance to make each and every prim count. Without a prim limit, builds tend to become highly ostentatious. Well done low-prim builds have a certain austere grace, as each prim is carefully chosen for maximum poignancy.

That said, I can't wait for Havok 2. It'll be fun to see what people do with the extra prims.

ive got a old plane that is 155 prims and it doesnt crash much

Trust me on this one. Given what I've seen and read on sim handoff and physics-based lag, there are good reasons for this limit.

The point is this isn't a completely arbitrary limit - it's one that LL decided upon, likely after having a meeting on the subject.

Quoting numbers off the top of your head does not mean they would support this plan. A better course of action, if you seriously want a response, would be to ask one of the Lindens about why it came to 31 in the first place and what they plan to do about it. I would suggest submitting this to Kelly's notecard reader in Ambleside or to the Hotline to Linden forum.

I'm not saying you're not on the right track here. I am saying that to have this seriously considered, you should back it with better logic than "it would be nice if -."
