Instead of having the button "Offer Teleport" to bring someone else to you, change it to "Request Teleport" so you can ask someone else if you can come to them.

I find that more often than not, the process works out this way anyway. I IM someone to ask they send me a TP, and then they open my profile and send it my way, and I accept.

Additionally, this will cut down tremendously on teleport spam, or pulling newbies away from the welcome area.

Along with this, I'd suggest an option in preferences:

Teleport Requests:
(_) Prompt
(_) Automatically accept all
(_) Automatically accept friends
(_) Decline all

Advantages:
1) Removes the incentive for teleport spam
2) Decreases the chances a newbie will be teleported away from the welcome area / orientation
3) Implements the default behavior without having the trouble of asking via IM
4) Less troublesome if you accidently accept

Now that I think about this, it seems kinda silly we didn't start this way to begin with =)
