I would like to be able to lend people money safely and borrow from people while giving them security. It would be very helpful for development of SL economy if you could attach a loan/mortgage to a piece of land  Mortgage system would also make for nice story about SL in the RL news media |

Interesting concept. A problem that might arise would be if the mortgage went unpaid. You would inherit a piece of land that might drive up your own land tier. I am maxed on my current tier and would not want to take control of a piece of land and have to pay additional RL fees for a month, or longer, until I can sell the land. Is this how you see it working or am I missing the big picture?

no. absolutely not. i won't even be sarcastic about this. we already have newbies spending vast amounts of real dollars on land and teir fees for one month of "ooo look at this new game" then moving on to the next with very deep regret. they're talking about it all over the net. hell, they're going BACK to THERE.
the last thing we need is for them to have to gom more real cash to buy enough lindens to pay off inworld loans. secondlife doesn't need that kind of press.
