I am not sure how to really word this but I am an old player dating back to about August of 2004 and I really, really miss that feeling where you can go somewhere and know that there is going to be someone there that you know. I miss going to those sandboxes and making things with my friends and talking to people and knowing everyone. I am sure many others may have felt this but i have descided to try and see if this can change something. I don't want to make a big thing out of this, but just put it out there. If it is possible i would like this. If anyone is reading this i would really appreciate the listening to what i have to say. Basically My goal is to have people look at this and say wow, i remember all that and yeah that would be cool to have it back. To do this i am suggesting maybe having certain islands or land that can be limited to maybe people that started SL before a certain date so it would be like old times or have people limits so places dont get crowded like i see all the time and it ruins all the fun. Also maybe object limits to make it also help but most of all people and maybe date limits. I joined SL in 2004 so if i wanted it to be like when i joined with all the people i liked to talk to while maybe building something i would love to have a place to go to, maybe a single island, a group of islands, a casino, anything, where it is only allowed for maybe people from 2004 and before. These islands i am suggesting would be of just people from one section of time so they would not keep being new people showing up, you would always know everyone. Also i would like to suggest maybe a seperate grid that people could use or something or a set of grids that are only allowed for groups from 2004 and before or anything similar to that. IF THIS DID HAPPEN... i would probably play sl every day until i had to do something else. This may be a very big inconvienience for the developers, or not, i am not sure and thats why i dont want to make a big thing out of this but just get it out there. I would like to thank anyone who read this through and i deeply deeply appreciate the kindness that i have been given from friends showing support into this. Thank You alot, Alex Parks PS: IF you want to ask me a question, have a comment, or want to yell at me just IM me in game.

Well, you could write a script that teleports anyone home whose account isn't old enough for your liking. http://secondlife.com/badgeo/wakka.php?wakka=llRequestAgentData

Why don't you start a group? Like "Class of 04" group. Then restrict access to the group....

The whole thing is that i dont have that much spare money i payed yearly before but now i downgraded to basic because i dont have too much spare money to throw around anymore so i am trying to see if i can get maybe someone else or the administration to create something like that if there are alot that actually care, and i have asked a lot of people in sl and they said yes except for some that started in 2005

In any case, are you saying that you can't be friends with anyone who didn't sign up prior to 2005?

Please dont think that i hate people that started after or on 2005.

Hmm...
You're assuming that if there was an island limited to "oldbies" (or whatever you wanna call them) that they'd be attracted to it somehow. I don't see why that would happen myself.

Ya know Alex, I hate to say it, but I don't see what you're talking about. I get the feeling of knowing just about everyone everywhere I go because I almost do. Granted I only visit a few sims, but I think the reason for your loss of cennectedness lies in the amount of sims we have now compared to 2004.
Back in 04 the new thing was Class2 servers and there were only a few hundred sims. Now in 06 the population has boomed, we're up to Class4 servers capable of housing 4 sims at once, now there are several hundred servers with over 1000 sims, and PTP teleporting has made telehub travel a thing of the past. The problem isn't the age of the players, its the size difference of the metaverse and the way we travel it now.

Well back when i was new i could always count on a small group of people to help you out and when you got better you could still always count on them and just they were always there as one little group and you always felt like you could go online and there was a hundred precent chance someone would be on. That feeling of home has just been destroyed by so many people that joined. Many people have also quit due to this and i am hoping to maybe change something to make people come back or prevent them from leaving.

So you're trying to build community? Perhaps a good place to start would be finding communities that work and looking at what keeps them together.

And ron yes that is a great point but what im saying is that i think that some older players should have maybe a seperate place they can be allowed to go to to get away from all that mess, right now if i went to the sandbox today and all the rest of the week and i watched the players, some one day will be in a nice mood not causing harm but then other days they will shoot and stuff but some people would like to get away from that and cant afford to pay extra for land and have no oppertunities.

I really doubt it that anything will happen but nothing somes out of just sitting there and complaining so i decided to finally try to do something but land is the #1 issue and thats where im hoping to get the administration in, to maybe make a linden owned land or something for it.

I'm no analyst but I think you'll find that land isn't the hardest thing and that if you got a community together you'd likely get enough contributions from the members of said community to get some land. Simply having a place and limiting the access to a certain type of person doesn't automatically make that type of person want to go there. Hell, if that worked I would have set rules on my bedroom that only pornstars could enter it ages ago.

Why not just buy an island yourself. It isn't the Lindens job to fulfill your dreams, your imagination in second life. Its YOURS. Quit begging and go work for it.
