A lot of stores do not have a touch button to find out about a product before you buy it so sometimes i have to click on buy to see how much it cost. Instead of selecting cancel i hit ok by accident and now i'm stuck with two dresses i didn't want.

When it says "you have paid so and so this amount of money" can you put a cancel button next to the OK button please.

But there's already confirmation button on the payment dialog...

Yes it says do you want to buy "ok or cancel" of course playing late at night i've hit ok by accident. Then a pop up says "you have paid so and so 500L" for example and the only button to click is ok.
When i realize my mistake i have no choice. :(

Isn't it easier to correct yourself from doing silly things instead of inconveniencing the rest of the world to adopt a double confirmation system when purchasing things?

Yes i suppose it would be. Inconveniencing the maker of the game and or the sellers of products instead of helping a customer. Interesting concept.
I hope you've never worked retail or customer service.

....backs out of thread and checks forum name. Hmmm yes it is still called feature suggestion.

I think the main problem here would be that the "You've paid" dialogue means it's done, so a button there would be redundant. Perhaps a warning box saying "You are about to pay X L$Y, are you sure you want to do this?" and give it one of those "Don't remind me again" checkboxes at the bottom. This way if you want the extra check it's there, but you can disable it if it annoys you.
This would come up only after you've selected to pay.

Inconveniencing every user of SL with something that isn't much of a real benefit is an issue. Just saying, since, while this may be a feature feedback, it is a public forum open to others comments.

While I work in a service related industry, I don't want to actually work in retail if I can avoid it. The stores usually put equally dim people to face the customers.

*pokes* Is my last post invisible to everybody? It has the whole point of the original post with perhaps a more appropriate solution?

Don't be put off because someone misses the point entirely. Sure, the original post's suggestion isn't an ideal solution, but the problem is there so it shouldn't be dismissed. I run a suggestions forum for another site, and I delete posts that aren't constructive, the worst you should ever be saying in here is things like "I'm not sure that's really a big problem?" or "Not a fan of the solution, perhaps there is a better way, for example...".
I see loads of people replying to ideas with things like "No point in implementing this, the Lindens will never do it" or "Don't you think LL has enough to do already?" which isn't the point here?

I think Haravikk's solution is an excellent one. If there is enough demand for the extra safety that Deborah is asking for then Haravikk's solution would be the way to go.

I'm a software developer and I usually cringe at requests like Deborah's but when you're dealing with money (even tiny amounts) some folks require a safety net so that they feel comfortable. By giving people an "opt-out" option like Haravikk suggests you can please just about everyone.

I also second the opinion that a lot more consideration could and should have been used in replying to Deborah's suggestion.
