Clothing "try it" outs

I was wondering if there was a way LL could put a script on the clothes, where people can buy the scripted clothes for $1, and it will go into their inventory for 5 minutes before it will auto destroy, so they can try the outfit before buying it.

Like a option when you right click the clothing item

If I recall, "Try before buy" is a feature request that was accepted. I haven't heard much about it recently, though.

A while back I suggested a "wrapper" that a creator or (if they had mod rights) owner could apply to an object that could do things like mask (or, if creator, expand or change) permissions, that would be removed:

1. When the owner selected "unwrap".
2. When the owner transferred the object or a copy to someone else.
3. After a specific time.

It would also allow the object to be sold for a minimum price (paid to the creator, not the owner) as a requirement for the transfer, and cause the object to be deleted when it was removed.

This could be used for rentals, commission sales, sales of gifts (so you could sell it with transfer/no-copy and have it switch to no-transfer/copy when the recipient received it), embargoed releases (no transfer before public release), escrow (give it to a trusted third party with no perms until it's transferred on), time-limited restrictions (FULL PERMS after 1/1/2007!), and so on.

Someone pointed out that Linden Labs was already working on something called wrappers (sheer coincidence) that seemed to have a similar goal.

Wonder how they're getting on with that?
