Please consider having touch coordinates for objects. Imagine how many hundreds to thousands of prims could be saved in one sim alone if we could, for example, texture arrows onto a vendor and detect the touch coordinates to cycle sale items and trigger notecards! Today I was taking a ride on Stillpink's magic carpet, which was one prim, plus 7 invisible prims for seats. If the one prim's script could detect where agents had touched, it could offer fire a sit event instead of needing 7 additional prims to handle it.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that enhanced coordinate manipulation would seriously impact overhead and throughput for the better!

When I asked about this back in the old script forum before it got nuked, I was told that such information should be fairly easy to program in... but they said we probably wouldn't see anything like this until Havok 2 is in, which is now, what? Mid 2005?

Great! Thanks for the information. I'm surprised that this isn't a high priority item since it would advance both performance and game dev significantly. I'd love to see some of the war junkies script headshots and cycle wound textures. Not to mention the explosion in interactive clothing that would result in the mature sims ;)

I would like to inform all of you that the Generous people of PKO Industries:Amida will be bringing to you a Touch Location script very soon. Some ingenious men worked on this project and.. well. hacked it together in a few moments. I'm sure the community will love it.
