Ethical use of "TempOnRez" prims?

I'm not sure what forum to post it in, but since it calls for a new feature, I figured I would put it here.

There is a way to place a lot more prims on your land than you are allowed to. I'm not going to go into the script, but a 512SQ plot can hold 128 normal prims and with this script you could, in theory, keep 16,000 prims up almost all the time. Just ignore the momentary flashing now and then and use regular prims for the sitballs and floors. Also ignore the sim prim cap. ;)

Note: I have not tested this theory since I am afraid of crashing the sim.

I have been asked several times to make items that let them put more prims on there land. I tell them that I won't give them a script to do it, but... "here is some info and the link to the wiki." They then say that they don't script... And I just giggle to myself and leave them to learn.

Now vendors use "TempOnRez" all the time so we can't just get rid of it.

I am also trying to make a "Select a toy" device and will have to do something similar since the normal prim allowance is not given back immediately upon llDie.

As for some feature sugestions.

Is there any way to have a object return or delete notify the sim so that I can immediately rez the next selected item?

Having llObjectTake(key id) would also allow it to use no-mod, no-copy ,no-transfer items since it could rez it and then take it back when it's done being used.

It's definitely against the community standards to use temp-on-rez prims to get around prim limits. Look for a statement on "using a disproportionate amount of server resources". While it may be technically possible, a lot of things that are against the rules are technically possible, but the lindens will punish you for them just the same.

Temp-on-rez prims (usually) don't count against your prim allowance, except for the random times when they do, but they do count toward the sim prim cap of 15000, I think. I imagine that if you used up the entire sim's prims, your neighbors would be pretty annoyed.

As to vendors that rez products samples, I don't see an ethical problem with this, so long as the products are only rezzed when someone's actually there looking at the vendor.
