Would it be possible to have a little piece of ground somewhere nice (and maybe even popular) to erect a short term memorial to the late DJ John Peel?
The man touched many lives, my own included, and the 13th of this month is the one year anniversary of his final radio broadcast. He died on October 25. There are many live music events planned for the 13th.
Nothing too big or spectactular, just a little granite slab and a photo or two.
I'd be happy to build it, I think it would be a really nice thing.

I think this is a fantasatic idea. I owe John Peel alot and he inspired me to no end. A few years ago i was suffering from serious depression and had decided to end it. John Peel was on the air at the time and started talking about how peaceful this song made him then he played Golden Fields. After i heard it i can't explain it but i stopped and listened and from then on i listened alot to John's show drawng inspiration from it, giving me the strength i needed in effect. LOL i used to go to sleep listening to the show it was so comforting. I would very much like this memorial for John and i am sure many of us would.
