Second life Beta Grid

After grid and view updates, many users inevitably find bugs with the system. This is reasonable considering the many users of SL. I would like to propose that these SL residents be used as a resource for SL development. I believe a grid should be set up separate from both the main and teen grid (a grid Zero if you will) which would allow for beta testing of new SL implementations. SL residents would then be allowed to set up a beta tester account, and download a separate SL viewer. Both grid updates and viewer updates would then be beta tested by residents before being applied to the main grid.

I am posting the idea here before I put it up for vote. I think this would lessen the stress on LL and allow the community more involvement in second life's development. I would like to site Google labs and the new MSN sandbox as examples of the effectiveness of such a system.

The Test Grid already exists, and goes up when new versions are being tested.

The 1.7 Test Grid is going to be chock full of beta-testing goodness. Stay tuned!
