I'm sick of blue boxes and some other textures clogging up the landscape in Second Life.
If the textures are being rendered on the user's local machine, it seems it should be possible to create be an override so that individuals can make it such that certain textures either aren't seen, are mostly transparent, or are replaced with another texture.
I would like to suggest that a feature be added to the Second Life client that allows the users to add UUIDs for textures they don't want to see on their client. If the configuration allows you to choose a different texture instead by supplying an alternate UUID, then that would show up on your client instead. That way if you have a big ugly blue floating sign or a building you don't like next to you, you can change it to a picture of a flying eagle or something.
An in-game interface where we could click on the unwanted texture to filter would be nice, but even if it was a box that you typed the UUID into that would be fine. And we would, of course need to be able to delete these choices in case we made a mistake.
I think this small change could make life more enjoyable for users who don't like to be forced to see other people's builds without curbing the freedom of the other people to make those builds.
