This ever happened to you: You KNOW you have recieved something but you have no idea where it went? Spent forever searching for that lost notecard or clothing item you just bought? Well I think this would be very handy if you know you got but you just dont know where.... make it possible to search our invos like we can in Find, so airheads like me wont spend 20 mins rummaging through our things please and thank you -- AG

Jeez it seems theres a new thread about this every week now. LL why not just put it in already? It will A) make us all very VERY happy and B) cut down on the reposts of the request for it and free up some forum space. I'm not busting you for re-suggesting this, I don't expect everyone to search through forums for stuff (who would want to?), I'm just sayin, alot of people seem to want this, almost as badly as custom animations/gestures it seems. I'm lazy and don't feel like reposting all the previous ideas that have been suggested for how this could be implemented, so if your a Linden and have no idea how to go about doing this... just search on these forums and you'll probly find like 15 different ways you could do it. Oh and as if I really need to... but just in case... I STRONGLY STRONGLY VERY VERY STRONGLY endorse/support this idea/feature.

searching inventory
04-25-2004 13:32
Just a tip:
1) Sort by date, new things usually show up on top of the folder of the relevant type.
2) as of version 1.3? You can jump to item using partial name matching. (You still have to have the folders you want to search open, and the focus on some item in the inventory for this to work). It's not as elegant as I'd hoped but it's something at least!
3) Don't forget you can scroll up and down in inventory with arrow keys... opening/closing folders with <-- and -->
4) Request: could we have an open all sub-folders button until a better search method comes along? (I've heard rumors of major Inventory management updates coming in version 1.5, can anyone confirm or give more details?)

Yeah in the town hall they were estimated to be 1.4-1.5 or around there, (probly around or after 1.5).
So eventualy it will happen, but ugh. Too many thing to want *NOW*.

I'll post my "Me Too!" post for this.
I have a relatively *small* inventory and it's still taken me at times 5 to 10 minutes to find an object that accidentally dropped into a random folder.
I didn't know about the partial-completion, however; that's useful to know.
