I would love to see communications look a little more natural. The local mall shopkeeps would laugh themselves silly if I just stood infront of the register, fingering the air in order to tell him I need pants. What if the whole keyboard thing got replaced by a moving jaw/mouth, and some chattering noise kinda like EA's game "the sims". For starters this whould sound much nicer when participating in a chatting lounge or some sort of class room. Ive been around the HQ where they give an occasional lecture on stage, and im telling you, 20 people sitting and rattling away like an office cube, just kills the "group activity" mood. So get them lips flapping! I want to hear a coazy mutter at buzy spots like clubs and bars. Im not talking "horny screams coming from a house next door" yet, but hearing someones vocal cords during a conversation might put a bit more livelyness into it. Perhaps you can even make a slider in your apprearance dialog that sets the pitch of the voice. It would be hilarious to talk to a little tinkerbell with the booming voice of barry white. So what do you guys think? You can vote for it here.

I'm all for jaw flapping instead of typing. I really don't think the "noises" are necessary.

Depending what noise they use that could be rather creepy. *heh* So I'd rather not have the noises. I don't mind the typing noises, but I will admit the anim, if you're roleplaying or something, looks goofy. OOC it doesn't bother me though because then I know who I'm looking for to talk to.

I'd like to see the moving lips and maybe be able to ad our own sounds like with gestures. I'd make my avie have the adult talking sound from the peanuts cartoons, Wah waaah wah, waaaah wah wah Oh or maybe some scat man ...scoobie da la ooooo ya ya scibidy bam dow. lol I just would hope they make the lips move when/if they ever add voice chat (ala There.com).

The mouth animation would be ok. The typing animation was cute when I first saw it (once I figured out what it meant), but has gotten old. I could do without the sound, though. I think that should be an option.

Well, while I totally understand what people may want, and how it would humanize us more, nope, I don't think I would like it. So creepy (to my eyes)!! I really enjoy my lil tap-tap-tapping sound and my typing anim. I think it is a nice mix from "hey I am here as an avatar, you see my full body entity, etc, but I am still someone typoind behind", it's cute, I dunno... Just my 5cents. Besides, my friend has this gadget that anims you and your mouth when you type and even if it was well done, I found it creepy/annoying, and even herself removed it aftre a while. So I think it would be awesome if they would offer it as an option. Oldschool typitap or Newschool mouthymouth, haha XD

Aside from that, some of us never have our avatar mouths showing. I'm usually in a werewolf suit, so you'd never see the anim.

I prefer the typing animation in a way because it's something I can easily recognise and distinguish as "the person you're chatting with is typing out what they want to say." If it was just moving lips, I don't think I'd be able to tell.

From: Aodhan McDunnough Get our avatars to speak Simlish. There are reasons I can no longer stand to play the sims, and that's a big one. It just annoys the hell out of me. I don't know why, but it does. I *much* prefer the keyboard, although I'd be all in favor of a checkbox that you could use to silence that. Just spare me the sim talk and the creepy moving mouths, please.

Too many people on SL have attachments that cover their head, so this suggestion will never work. Besides, people can over ride any animation in the game, so what's the point of making the lindens change the animation when the user can already do it.
