Six-digit text boxes that are actually wide enough to display six digits, please

This has bothered me since I started. In the Edit window, Object tab, the text boxes for X, Y, and Z position permit six-digit decimal numbers, but the numbers are often wider than the boxes. The last 1 or 2 digits are usually cut off.

Please make these boxes wide enough to show their contents.

Yes! Excellent suggestion. This has bugged me forever and it never occurred to me that it needed to be fixed. Good call, hope this gets some attention.

Ok I just played with this and although I do recall this being the case before, for some reason right now all cases of 6 digits plus a decimal I tried fit. Can you give me an exact number that doesn't?

I frequently have to scroll over to reach the last .000 digits. I will go double check and take a screenshot.

Yay! I could not duplicate it either. It seems to no longer be an issue. I will send you a screenshot if it comes up again.

I have a practical example, from memory, I was building my burning life temple yesterday and it looked crooked. Turns out it had -0.005 shear on a prim. Or was it top size?
Since it only displayed -0.00 I didn't notice the minus and happily shift-dragged that object a number of times.
As there is no easy way to edit multiple objects in SL, I then had to manually set the shear or top size back to 0.

Yeah, cuts, shears, and twists may be an issue, I havent checked that. But the postion, size, and rotation seem to be good to go now.

if i can grab a screenshot of it, i'll post it here.

i was working on my Burning Life build recently and had the same problem.. it only happens sometimes and for some reason i think it's usually the number for 'X' in the Position section.. not positive about that, it just seems like that's how it is. from memory anyway.

so yeah, the boxes probably only need to be half a character wider. not sure.. but it happens sometimes in any case.

I think it has to do with the width of the character for the font used. For example 999.999 would not be able to be displayed completely, but 111.111, would. Just because the 9 is wider than a 1 is in the font.

I'm not sure if SL uses windows controls for the dialogs or not. If not then this next idea is moot. If they do use windows controls, then it may also have to do with your particular Windows settings. For example if you have yourself set in "large font" mode in windows or not.

Try various numbers. The font isn't fixed pitch so it's hit-and-miss what fits and what doesn't (probably during design they tested it with 111.111 which probably fit :p

Fix the font while you're fixing the OLD annoying "bug" of Edit/Object text boxes. Give us a nice fix pitch font. Lucinda Console comes to mind.

this is one of the bugs i'm sure i've compained about or just drempt i have. The other bug thats been annoying me is the missrendering of tubes with advanced cut. 2 ways to show it apply an alpha texture or set a medium dark color to the object and set it to have medium shine.

6 digit boxes X_X

same thing happens with the clock around 11 & 12 am/pm; the p gets dropped off.
