Any possibility of a release for Linux? The more I tinker with Red Hat Linux 9.0 the more I am beginning to love it.

One of my roomies doesn't play simply because there is no Linux version. Would be a nice thing to have.

I "play" much less than I would if there was a Linux version. In fact there is a good chance I'd stay online almost continuously if that were the case. Same would be true if I had an SL capable Apple computer (my old iBook won't hack it).

Basically, I don't do Windows. Which means I dual boot a spare computer into Windows twice a week to check in with my friends.

There is a long thread on this already I think. There are also some instructions for running SL under Linux using Wine (or actually the Transgaming version of Wine). I think several people have managed to do it...but with some limitations. I decided to just wait.

A Linux as well as an OS X version were "promised" (I put that in quotes because I'm not sure how strong the commitment really was) even during the Beta. The OS X version as far as I know is out and relatively stable, but the Linux version, I guess, just turned out to be too much work for now. It's still a goal, but maybe a long term goal at this point.

Anyway, I'm glad you brought it up. Good to "ping" these things from time to time.
