Video cards with 512 megs of video memory are limited to 256megs at this time. I'd love to see this increased so we can take advantage of the extra muscles the cards have. Not only that but next generation games are going to be upping the ante fairly soon and 1 gig cards are going to be common.

Done for 1.7, but not tested. I don't have a 512 MB card to play with!  These cards won't help you unless you have 1 GB or more of main system RAM. The images on the video card need to be "backed up" to system memory in many cases, so you need to have more system memory than video card memory. James |

If you want a video suggestion how bout giving people with dual monitors the ability to SL drag notecards and various windows out and onto the second monitor. I am sure there are plenty more ppl with dual moniotors than there are ppl with 512 M of video ram. This is ia feature that is necccessary in my opinion.

My new computer will have 4GB and the Nvidia 7800 512mb cards... please increase the settings yes so 512mb card can be used
