Well, we now have the option to turn off display of our own group titles...which I think is kinda bass-ackwards.

I want to suggest the reverse be implemented and optional. That is, I would like to be able to not display other people's titles.

Benefits
1. Faster screen rendering
2. Less clutter on my screen.
3. I might actually be able to read someone else's name in a crowded area.

How about it?

1 ain't true, but 2 and 3 certainly are.

I'm all for it.

I aggree ... just like we can make other peoples names smaller and turn them off, removing the group tag would make a crowded event a much less confusing affair for me

After all I spend my entire time is SL in a state of confusion, every little helps!

1 IS true.. if the client needs to render a title as a foreground item, then it must calculate doing so.. ergo, slower render than if that calculation was not required. Add to that the time required to render the titles of six people standing in a near direct line from you AND their titles AND the time it takes to calculate/render the titles one on top of the other - in addition to figuring out which SHOULD be rendered as foreground and which as foreground - 1, well, the time may not be considerable or even noticeable, but it IS slower.

Since the title is part of the player's name, then it's the same speed as if it were rendering just their name.
