"Mask" layer for head

The torso and legs can be tattoo'd/clothed via using the undershirt layer, but the head can only be altered on the skin layer, meaning that any such customization requires altering the skin. Now while I have no problem with popping out endless skin variations, a lot of people are very fond of their extisting skins, but many would like to be able to vary details there.

Consider: eyebrow changes, makeup changes, facial hair changes, facial accoutements (caste marks, tats, cybernetic implants, bukkake, masks, beauty marks, hair stubble, etc. This would open a lot of new markets for those who may not be as adept at making skins, but are perfectly suited to the decoration market. Now, there's plenty of folks who make skins who might be put out that others would be able to offer variations that have until now been their sole dominion, but for them, they would have an easier time of making variations for their own skins as well - imagine not having to generate a dozen skins for each variation, where they could make their base skins, and make one set of makeup variants, and let people pick the variants they wanted - if nothing else, would save them a LOT on prim space.

For me, for instance, I like to make hats - unfortunately, most skins come bald, so wearing a hat requires that I design it to attach to an ear so it doesn't get in the way of hair that might be attached to the skull, and then scale it ludicrously so that it doesn't intersect with the hair (or worse, have to design "hat hair" that comes with the hat). However, with this system, I could make a painted hairline that suggests that the hair is pulled up tight under the hat, that would work with someone's extisting skin, and they could add a pony tail or wisps that plenty of folks make as stand alone "extensions" - all without having to make the hat look ridiculously large.

Not sayin I would make em, but there's plenty out there who find that sort of crap fun. You could make it Heinz baked beans for that "Tommy" effect, if you prefer. Just sayin it would be fun and helpful to have the ability to add things to the face/head via such a layer - especially given that the face is the source of identity for most humans, so anything that allows for greater personalization there, has got to be a benefit.

I love it. Would create a whole new market for the masks. Tattoos, makeup, jewelry etc etc that can be applied to ANY skin.

I really hope LL considers this idea :)

mmmmm... ann-margret and baked beans.

(if you've never seen it... lol, well, you had to be there!:)

oh, p.s. - forgot the actual thread.;) so there's future plans for many more interchangable layers for clothing, as i understand it... however, whether or not that includes the head/face for layers (which of course we don't have now), i don't know - i hope so!!

The guy writes 500 words and all you see is "bukkake". Who has the problem here?

Borg implants are another case in point; That silly mask thing from the film called... The Mask!

I would love to be able to do this

Im sick of spending 1800 on a new skin just to change beard or add eyeliner.

would also be rad to be able to do some facial tattoos.
