Since we have to relog so often to recover from miscellaneous mishaps such as ghosting, trapped in animations and winding up in unknown regions, why not include a Relog button on the user interface?
It would automatically log us off and log us back on without going through the tedious task of logging out, clicking on the Second Life icon, waiting for the Login screen and hitting connect again. Kind of like a Restart button in Windows...

Indeed! Or how about maybe File > Connect and File > Disconnect?

From: someone ...Kind of like a Restart button in Windows... As in "Are you sure you want to restart? Yes, weren't you paying attention? I know you asked me to restart, but you have an Office application open and I don't know how to close it even though it was written by the same company and has nothing in need of saving, so I'll just wait here forever and not restart. Isn't the desaturated desktop pretty?." Less sardonically, restoring an application to its just started state, especially when you hadn't planned on it, is typically pretty hard to do as there are gobs of state that need to be reset. It is typically easier to just restart the app. Me, I'd settle for a "refresh my entire view so that the ghosts go away", the mechanism for which already seems to be in there as it is needed for teleports.

While waiting for this button to appear

While waiting for this feature to perhaps be implemented one should take note of a way to streamline the startup process. Theres is a command line switche to bypass the startup screen, the login switch. Usage for this switch is as follows: -login <first> <last> <password> log in as a user -settings <filename> specify the filename of a configuration file default is settings.ini
Heres an example of how I use the login switch in my shortcut that starts SecondLife: " C:\Program Files\SecondLife\newview.exe" -login SuezanneC Baskerville MYPASSWORD
This allows one to bypass the startup screen, a minor thing, but if you have to restart a lot it adds up.
