Please remove the IM chat from my regular chat. I know i can use chat history rather than following the chat on the screen to eliminate this - but then the chat history blocks part of my screen. I would love to have the IM chat stay right where it belongs .... In the IM. I have quit many clubs because of the hourly bombardment of chat but wouldn't mind keeping those clubs active and IMs open if it didn't affect my view of regular (local) chat. I have also responded in public chat by mistake to things sent in IM. The current method is confusing and really annoying.

Okay ~ am i the only one that sees their IM chatter popping into the regular (masked) chat? I know it can be added or deleted from Chat History in preferences, but do not pull up Chat History unless I am scrolling for something that I missed.
I can usually keep up with chat as it rolls and fades on the screen ~~~ except when the IM chat starts flooding THAT chat space. If there is a setting that I am missing - please show me the light! But other than option above (for chat history) I have not seen anything that addresses this.
LOL ~ I posted about this a couple weeks ago ... i'm starting to wonder if I am the only one seeing the IM chatter in the onscreen public chat.

Uhmm... sure, that kind of spam popping up is annoying, but if you hit "Close" in the IM window, you'll never recieve another IM from that group again during that login session.

I get what you're saying, and I think it should be an option, or tied into the current option of showing IM in chat history. (which I thought it did)
