The problem is when you want people to know you are busy and unable to respond to IM's etc would like to use "Busy Mode" except you can't. If you do you may loose inventory sent by objects, messages from objects (rental information, vendor sales etc).

Busy mode in its current implementation is just not usable for MANY people. And since LL seem unwilling to add features to it (ability to allow or block object inventory offers or IM's). How about adding a totally new feature.......Auto Response? It could be client side only, and relatively easy to implement. The idea is when you turn this feature on, the client will respond to a IM with "This is a auto response: the resident you are trying to contact is unavailable but has received your IM and will respond when they have time". Or even better just respond with the "busy mode" message that is already set up in the client. This would allow people to customize their own message. This auto respond message would only be sent say once every new IM session to prevent others that are actually talking with from being spamed with the message over and over again (simlar to busy mode).

This would give people that are busy and unable to respond, yet want to be able to receive items/object messages without worry. AND won't require a lot of permissions/filtering or other wise change to current busy mode to implement. I have seen other 3rd party clients (bots) add such a auto responding feature. Why not LL add a simple and necessary feature?

If you like the idea, be sure and vote for it:
